In the prilims examination objective type questions asked by upsc.
There are two papers in Prilims 1. GS(History, Geography, Economics, Polity, Current affairs, general science)
                                                    2.CSAT( aptitude test, qualifying nature, not evaluation first paper if not qualify this paper )
In GS paper one hundred questions asked and this paper decides that anyone qualify for Main Exam or not. approximate fifteen thousand aspirants qualify for main examination.
Main exam pattern is subjective. There are nine paper in main examination, two paper is qualify nature. Seven papers(1750 marks) decides that anyone get success in this exam or not.

              2. Language( choosen by candidate, 250 marks, qualify nature, 25% marks for qualify)
              3.Essay (250 marks)
              4.GS1    (250 marks History, Geography, Social issue)
              5.GS2    (250 marks, Polity, International issue, constitution, governance, social justice)
              6GS3    (250 marks, Economic development, bio diversity, technology, disaster management, Environment,)
             7.GS.4   (Ethics, integrity and aptitude 250 marks)
             8.   (Optional 1, 250marks )
             9.   (Optional 2, 250 marks)
